this book was full of surprises. so often you can totally figure out the plot and ending in the first few chapters and this one keep you going longer. this was a book that kept you reading late into the night.the info of the guns was a great touch I like to read stories where the author inserts history and even though it is a fiction you walk away with knowledge of true facts and info. such as with the guns and woman's right to vote in Utah.
I'm looking forward to more books by David Wehr.

McKnight is an easy read that will keep you up when you should be going to bed. The excitement and wildness of the "wild west" will take you back to a different time in our history. A fantastic story, I am glad I read it.
McKnight is a very enjoyable read from cover to cover! The plot is interesting, the love story is just lovely and warms your heart. There is a great storyline that just keeps you buried in the book!
What a fun read. This story moves right along with enough characters and twists to stay just a little ahead of the reader. It reads like a movie, which it should be. If you like classic "John Wayne" type stories of hero and romance this is a must. It is one of those stories that once you start you will be doing the "one more chapter" or "one more page" until its done.
It's rare to find a hero with true values, but real human frailties. McKnight grapples with the every-day temptations we face as men (and women) but remains true to his faith, heart and mission.
A good quick read, great for stepping back to simpler times and getting away from today's confusion.

I bought McKnight, and although I generally do not read western novels, I found the story so captivating I couldn't put the book down! Part adventure/western excitement paired with a love story, and a great read, the only thing I had to complain about was that it wasn't long enough and I was sad to finish it!
I purchased this book, McKnight, out of loyalty to the author, then I got it home and started to read it. Oh, my! I simply couldn't put it down. In the genre of Louis Lamour, this was the first western that held me spellbound from the first page. The characters were very believable. I was enveloped with all my senses drawn in. The scenery was so vivid! I am not usually a fan of western novels, but I was captivated. Be very careful when you begin reading this as you will be unable to put it down. The plot offered something for everyone. While this is most definitely a love story, it was full of gun fights, intrigue, mystery and victory. McKnight is full of plot twists and turns. A must read! It would make a great film. It certainly could make a great series. McKnight is a man's man yet full of a tenderness and and a champion of those in times of trouble. Very realistic action and relationships. Buy it! You won't regret it.
